Staying on Track over Summer

Staying on Track over Summer

With the summer holidays fast approaching, we often get overwhelmed when we think about losing weight, keeping up exercise and entertaining the kids. We often think it’s all about workouts and food to stay on track, but there are other things which can keep us stay on the right path.

We think we need to…

  • Choose a diet
  • Get to the shops and start to purchase everything and anything colourful
  • Start going crazy with workouts
  • Tell your friends you aren’t coming out because you aren’t drinking
  • Cut out carbs before marbs and all that jazz……

Well, I’m here to tell you this doesn’t have to be the case… In fact, there is a much simpler process to take on, to put you in a better frame of mind – and to start maybe shifting a few pounds….

  • Drink more water – Do it- and see how it makes you feel!
  • Eat more protein – Stay fuller for longer – suppress those sugar cravings!
  • Walk & Talk – Catch up with friends or encourage work colleagues to get out with you for that gap you can create in your day! Give yourself a daily step goal/weekly step goal – and make it work round your commitments!
  • Get good sleep – Maybe get to bed 1/2hour or an hour earlier than normal.
  • Restrict your time scrolling on your phone – It’s not good for our health to be doing this too much daily! Get control of it now!
  • Don’t stop eating what you love – just make an adaptation! – Less over the week? Or maybe a lower calorie option.

Small changes over time can become huge changes.

Try and give some of these a go? Or take one at a time….
