Is Physio right for you?

Is Physio right for you?

If you are reading this then you might be wondering whether to book a physio appointment or not. Physiotherapy is a profession that helps a wide range of people from children, adults, those with disabilities, sportspeople, the elderly, and many others. Often a physiotherapist will specialise in a specific area as each speciality has many facets.

If you have recently had an injury, illness, operation, or accident you are unlikely to be functioning at your optimal level. This could be due to;

  • pain
  • a decline in your physical health
  • a reduction in your mobility
  • loss of strength
  • joint restriction
  • loss of confidence

Whatever your problems, physiotherapy is the service which can help you with all of these and many more.

You may have started recovering already but are finding that you just cannot get going fully and have plateaued. A physio will carry out a full assessment of your condition, test your current ability and design a programme that best suits you to ensure you reach your desired goals. Your goal might be to return to work, get back involved with your favourite sport, or take a walk through one of your favourite routes again. With the support of a professional you are giving yourself the best chance of
succeeding.

A physio does not only assess you, treat your injury and set you home exercise programmes. They will motivate and support you every step of the way. Rehab is not easy, and you will feel like its too much of a mountain to climb at times. That is where we can lift your spirits, motivate you and make your recovery fun. Setting little challenges, turning your exercises into games, creating forfeits can lighten the mood.

As well as making your rehab fun, we also know when things are not progressing as they should. We work with our colleagues such as podiatrists, consultants and gps to ensure you are cared for optimally and we will refer you on if necessary. Working as a team in healthcare ensure you get the best possible care. Now, if you still are not sure if you need physio, get in contact and we will answer any questions you have.

Thanks for reading, I hope this helped you.
